01India's 1st Water Metro System

Kochi Metro & Water Metro Network (KWML)

The Kochi Water Metro is a pioneering integrated water transport network in Asia, connecting Kochi's mainland with 10 surrounding islands. Powered by electric-hybrid passenger boats constructed by Cochin Shipyard, the 76 km network acts as a crucial feeder system to the Kochi Metro rail network, establishing a highly sustainable model for urban waterway transit.

02India's Deep-Water Transshipment Port

Vizhinjam International Seaport (VISL)

Developed under a public-private partnership by Adani Ports, Vizhinjam Seaport is India's first semi-automated deep-water container transshipment hub. Positioned adjacent to the international East-West shipping channels, the port features a natural draft of 20 to 24 meters, allowing it to dock ultra-large Megamax container ships without extensive capital dredging.

03Kerala's Elevated NH-66 Mega Corridor

Aroor–Thuravoor Elevated Highway

The NH-66 highway expansion includes a major 12.75 km four-lane elevated highway stretch between Aroor and Thuravoor. Built by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on single-column piers, it will stand as the longest elevated corridor in Kerala, bypassing highly congested municipal markets to speed up transit across the Kochi-Alappuzha sector.

04Kerala's Longest Mountain Tunnel Project

Anakampoyil–Kalladi–Meppadi Tunnel Road

Designed to establish a reliable, landslide-proof bypass between Kozhikode and Wayanad, the proposed 8.7 km twin-tube underground tunnel road will be the third-longest tunnel in India. Executed by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), the underground bypass routes traffic beneath ecological buffers to preserve the fragile Western Ghats.

05Kerala–Karnataka Economic Corridor

Bangalore–Malappuram Highway

A proposed high-priority economic highway alignment aimed at accelerating freight and passenger movement between southern Karnataka and northern Kerala. The corridor routes traffic efficiently from Bangalore through Mysore and the Nilambur region to Malappuram, bypassing traditional congestion points to reduce travel times by over 3 hours.

06Kerala's Proposed High-Speed Rail Corridor

Thiruvananthapuram–Kannur High-Speed Rail

Also known as the SilverLine semi-high-speed rail corridor (or its planned high-speed rail upgrade), this proposed 530 km rapid transit network links Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur. Designed to slash travel times from 12 hours to under 4 hours, the greenfield electric rail project is planned to run at speeds up to 200 km/h under K-Rail.
